 | Comments: |
The Liberty Springs Trail is a mix of dry trail and wet trail below 3,000' with snow patches up to 3,500' and full snow above 3,500'. Definitely still Winter above treeline, the snow on the Franconia Ridge Trail is still stable and firm, the summit itself is exposed bare rock. As a side note we came across an abandoned and bear-infiltrated tent at the Liberty Springs tent site. People had clearly fled in a rush, leaving behind significant food debris and personal items and what is now a wrecked tent and other items. Please remember it's bear season and be cautious and deliberate about food storage - bear canisters are now required in the Pemi Wilderness for overnight stays. |
