Outside the Echo Lake State Park gate; the park opens for the season on 5/2. This parking is very tight and should probably be expanded as vehicles grow larger and larger. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Several trees down on Echo Lake Trail. On the south side of White Horse Ledge, White Horse Ledge Trail has two huge trees down. One has a flagged bypass around it. Red Ridge Link has very old and faded orange and yellow blazes; the sign at the top of the trail is unofficial and has an incorrect mileage. |

 | Comments: |
I hadn't been on these trails since 2013 so this was a good refresher. Steep, steep, steep up to each summit but otherwise gentle/moderate. Great views over the valley from Cathedral Ledge and I had forgotten about the in-your-face view of the Moats from White Horse Ledge.
I enjoy winter but I also enjoy the return of glorious ledge walking! |
