Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: #TeamPartySized took care of everything on Crawford Path before the summit of Pierce. The stretch between Pierce and Eisenhower is still pretty tight which makes things interesting as you balance on the 2 inch wide monorail while praying to the mountain gods that the dang thing holds your weight.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: None seen :( Dogs would do fine.
Bugs
Bugs: Still in Hell. I suspect the winds today blew them back there.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing lost and nothing found.

Comments
Comments: This was a roll of the dice kind of day. I have been after this peak since May 1st and the conditions just weren't lining up. Today looked promising with mild winds and weather. What I got was rain, and graupel snow that was pelting my face with the stronger winds. The trail is a stream for a good part of the way up to Pierce. The slanted monorail is still there but you can kind of walk below it in some areas. I put spikes on for the last .25 until the junction with the Webster Cliff trail but I am wimpy. I am sure it can be done without them. There is more consistent monorail between that junction and the Eisenhower loop but there are still areas of bare rock. I opted to keep my spikes on since they are trashed already. The monorail is mostly stable but I punched through about 3 times. There are plenty of areas of standing and running water in that section which I just plowed through since my feet were wet already. The Eisenhower loop was mostly bare with some areas of glazed ice and some that was breakable over puddles. It's a mixed bag of conditions for sure. It was good to grid this one out today and I only have 3 more peaks to finish my grid. In the home stretch now.
