This note is meant simply to flag that the water crossing is high. -We set out on a reconnaissance hike to the junction of Carrigain Notch Trail and the bushwhack to Vose Spur, saving the Vose summit for another drier, better views day. It Started raining at the 1.9 mile water crossing and we regretted leaving the water shoes in the car and thinking we could rock hop it. We weren’t into donning/doffing boots, the rain increased, and the fun factor that you’re supposed to have on Mother’s Day was a bit gone. So we called it and reminded ourselves the mountain will be there another day. Much as it sucks to say that.
