 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
There were about 10-15 cars in the South Livermore Trail lot at 8:30, and around 10 at 5:00. This lot can probably hold around 40 cars, and there is also a bathroom as well. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
There was a water crossing at the start of the north segment (as it leaves Livermore Trail) of the Mount Tripyramid Trail loop which was crossable by carefully using some downed logs and rocks slightly downstream from the trail, although wading is also an option. The south segment of the Mount Tripyramid Trail had 3 major crossings near Livermore trail, none of them appeared rock hoppable at current water levels, and the best approach would probably be wading across, and they were only about knee depth. All three weren't particularly wide so with some exploration it would probably be possible to find a place to leap across or rock hop. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails were in good shape, except the blazes on Mount Tripyramid Trail were very faded. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one dog that was very well trained and impressively descending the south slide. I wouldn't have recommended bringing dogs on the slides but I learned that experienced hiking dogs can do it. |
|
 | Bugs: |
There were quite a few black flies around the river crossings and wet areas, but I didn't notice any mosquitoes yet. The bugs didn't seem too bad away from wet areas though. |

Beautiful spring day! 60s throughout the day with a nice breeze.
I was a little worried about the north slide being wet and slippery and potentially forcing us to turn around, but it was dry or manageable throughout. At the start of the slide when it is still more sheltered in the trees it was wet but with careful route planning it was possible to weave through the trees on the edge of the rock or find patches of dry rock. Once the slide opened up and was much sunnier it was fully dry except for a couple tiny patches that were avoidable. Aside from the ground conditions on the slide, the views from the slide are amazing! I counted 29 visible 4,000 footers while ascending.
The south slide was fully dry but care is required as the rock is very loose and gravelly.
There were some sections of the Mount Tripyramid trail where it felt more like Mount Tripyramid stream, but it wasn't enough water to have much of an impact and it was easy to either walk through or around it, but waterproof shoes are a must have. Despite the amount of water, there wasn't much mud and any mud present was avoidable or minor.
The Kettles Path/Irene's Path/Old Skidder Trail loop was in really good shape and easy to follow, and the Waterville Flume Gorge was really cool and worth checking out. |
