 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Overall, the trail is in decent shape. There is a fair amount of erosion from foot travel and rain runoff quite noticeable here and there. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one, very friendly, off-leash, enjoying the descent and lots of attention and snuggling with me. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Some were flying around, but not biting that I could tell. I didn't use repellent, and the only real encounter for me was a black fly that flew right into my ear up top. What a dumb bug, to advertise his presence that way and leave no room for escape. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
At the trailhead sign, there is an empty 3-liter hydration bladder with tube. Atop the sign, there is a pair of sunglasses. An hour into the hike, we came across a tent that was mentioned in Pokey's report on his hike up Saturday. It had been collapsed and left in a bundle at the side of the trailhead, with poles apparently all there. |

Another nice outing with the OTHH. There were a few others who had gone up ahead of us and were descending, and some later, ascending as we came down. The open rock slabs half way up were quite wet in many places, making for tricky footing ascending. On the descent, the sun had gone to work, and most of this wetness had dried. Low down, there was a fair amount of water and some mud on the trail, but the mud wasn't especially deep, and we could walk over it. |
