 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Thompson Rd. is currently not accessible to vehicles due to 2025 flood damage. The road is planned to be repaired this year but there is no specific timeline. Noted one piece of heavy machinery staged along the road. Past the damaged section, the road is in good shape but also quite narrow due to encroaching vegetation. I parked at the start of Thompson Rd. and walked in from there. This adds 1.8 mi. round-trip. |

No issues. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Looks like the older painted blazes have been replaced by newer plastic ones. Several areas of erosion where rock water bars are being compromised. All drainages need to be cleaned. I recall one small blowdown on the lower section of the trail. |

 | Bugs: |
All of the black flies I didn't see further north yesterday were here today. They were hungry and didn't care that I had a head net on. |

 | Comments: |
This was mainly a trip to check on the status of the road repairs, but I also continued up Doublehead Trail to the ridge and view ledge.
The trail itself was a mix of dry and wet ground with some mud. Lots of water draining off the slopes and in one short section the trail and the drainage were the same. The steep push up to the ledge is pretty rugged but not atypical for this area. Excellent views from the ledge and a restricted view from the summit cairn on the east peak. No one else seen. Maybe the bugs got them. |
