Comments
Comments: Good day for acclimating to summer temps tho I was in the shade most of the day thankfully. They had spice cake at the hut and then looped around the back side of the lake for the scenic route before climbing up into the steep col between NE Cannonball and Cannon. The stretch from here up to Hi Cannon is as steep as remembered and had the summit to myself and the blackflies. Hi Cannon is in decent shape above Dodge cutoff and this is year 10 of being completely and utterly baffled as to why the stretch down to the Lonesome lake trail split hasn't gotten any trail maintenance. Its easily top 5 for 4k trail erosion (before I contributed to worsening it) sigh. Mostly dry rock and minimal mud tho I expect way muddier conditions when I go out next on sunday
