Thee is no sign at the Evergreen Link TH. There is a rope across a dirt road - go there. There was no indication that this was a trail for a good distance. Even then, what I saw were two signs, practically across from each other, that said to take Cold Brook to Speckled. No mention of Evergreen Link until further up the trail. Confusing. Cold Brook to the summit was steep and at least half of it was on ledges or rocks. Speckled had terrific views. I needed the section of Red Rock from Speckled to Durgin and I did not enjoy it - steep down, which meant steep up when I had to come back to Speckled. Bickford Brook was the winner - great trail. |
