Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at wide intersection of Success Pond road and gated road marked no Trespassing. Lots of space off road on shoulders. Success Pond road was a bit rough (many pot holes), more than I remember from last fall; maybe not suitable for the low clearance car at this time.

Comments
Comments: We debated the approach for this summit. And decided on a northern route with a longer BW, but much less distance and elevation gain. From our parking location we walked into the woods to an old logging / skid road heading left, just past a culvert and drainage. Took several very old, some what over grown skid roads in direction of summit until they disappeared. At about this point the terrain became quite steep, but the woods were open. We climbed through the steeps (no ledges) using the occasional herd path up to the more level area at about 2800. From there the spruce forest to the summit was a fairly open with occasional pockets of fern or low bushes, but we could easily weave through to the summit utilizing more herd paths. Whole hike took less than 3 hours to cover the 3.6 miles with 20-30 minutes at the summit feeding the bugs. Thanks to Twinkletoes for joining me on this one the day after completing her final NH500!!! Congrats to her!!!!
