 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Well, the recent rebuild and widening of Black Cap Trail looks like it was quite the engineering project. Most of the route is now a wide gravel path to accommodate not only heavy foot traffic but mountain bikes. Black Cap Connector and Black Cap Spur also got this treatment and have some impressively-engineered rock drainage structures. Blazing on the open ledges in faint in places. Considering the amount of people that visit here, these should be repainted. Signage at the summit would be helpful to direct folks down the main trail and/or the spur. |

First time back here since the trail reconstruction and parking expansion were done. Easier than ever to zip up and down. This is definitely more popular with mountain bikers now and I saw several riders peddling up. Views on top continue to very slowly grow in. Some trimming here and there wouldn't be a bad thing. |
