Plenty of parking along 302... I was a bit surprised given the holiday weekend. |

It was rather windy at the summit, so the bugs stayed away. |

Rocks were a bit slippery from moisture in the air. The trail was busy, but not overly crowded. Most people seemed to just be enjoying the short hike to Jackson to beat the heat - others went on to Pierce. Took the short detour on the way back to visit Elephant Head, which provides a neat view into Crawford Notch for very minimal effort.
Best part of the day was taking a dip in Echo Lake in Franconia Notch after the hike to cool off! |
