I had the Howker ridge trail in my mind for a while, and it didn’t fail my expectations. Many views along the way, waterfalls, smooth pine needle floor, and tranquility. I also wanted to tag all the Howks. The 3rd one I kept for the return because even though it’s a short bushwhack, and I wanted to get off alpine zone before the rain. Woods are thick but I avoided the krummholz by going down on the northeast side and back up on the bump. Fun side trip!
Sam Adams was again very pleasant, but also very windy.
