We drove to the 2nd landing (the long/skinny one) on the western branch of Newell Brook Rd. The spur road had a couple sketchy spots and I think I bottomed out on one of them. |

As seemed to be the theme of the day, the logging was overgrown enough to be harmful not helpful, so we took a pretty direct line up, crossing the logging roads once or twice. Definitely steep, but decent footing and woods throughout. We veered a little SE of the minor ENE ridge on the ascent (better) and a little further NW on the ascent (worse). Jar is in the woods, on the south side of the windmill.
