Trail is in good shape. More mud than I had expected. Good size mud spots up high that you will want to make sure it is a stepping rock that you think it is and not a pushed up spot of mud! All rocks were dry. Beautiful views for an evening hike. Learned a new trick to close my mouth when going through the muddy big sections. Works wonders to not swallow any bugs. Who knew?!
Route 118 was shut down for a bit on the way out at the view point overlooking the mountains to the northeast as the Woodstock Fire Department, Police, and Ambulance crews were working to support a driver who went off the road and clear the car from the side of the road. Quick work by the Woodstock emergency department got the road back open for alternating traffic. |
