	Date of Hike:	Wednesday, August 26, 2026

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	Tripoli Road shaves days off my life. I swear it gets rougher and rougher. Allot extra time. I was sure it had taken 4 hours to reach the paved part of the road after the end of my hike. 2 of us pulled in at 7:45am and were the only ones in the parking lot. By the time I finished, the lot was full and cars were parked on the road. $5 to park or the WMNF pass.

	Surface Conditions:	Dry Trail, Wet Trail

	Recommended Equipment:

	Water Crossing Notes:	Only the first little crossing even had water. All the others were dry.

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	There are a few step overs and duck unders along the way. Nothing significant.

	Dog-Related Notes:	3 excellent puppers were spotted today. An Aussie, a beautiful black pupper and a Golden with the biggest smile. This is a great route for dogs. Some may need help around the chimney but the bypass to the bypass would work for most dogs.

	Bugs:	There were flying things all along the trail today. I inhaled one. Not recommended.

	Lost and Found:	Nothing lost and nothing found.


	Comments:	I always seem to get trail amnesia when it comes to this trail Ascending all was fine - the trail was damp as were the rocks but the tedious footing for that first mile or so was no big deal. The slanted slabby section was wet but still pretty grippy. There were some areas of mud in between the 2 peaks but there are logs and rocks to step on to avoid most of it. The chimney had some wet areas from run off but was still totally fine to use and it's fun and interesting so I didn't want to skip it. I felt like I was making good time until the tedious footing section started. Ugh, I cannot seem to figure out where to put my feet and I was thinking it was going to be September by the time I got back to my little car. I saw only 3 people until I was back on the summit of Osceola and heading down. Then I saw lots of friendly and happy hikers who were happy to chat. Another great day on the trail!
