 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
On Falling Waters, there are the trees that Waumbek previously mentioned, but also there are two areas where hikers are 'cutting corners'. Foggy memory, but the first one is within the first half mile (?) and I didn't notice it until the descent looks more recent. The second one is much further up and has been a problem for a while. I remember seeing it in May , and now it is significantly worse. on the way up, it's where FW takes a sharp rt turn...hikers are just going straight up. |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
saw some including a German shepherd that didn't look like it was having much fun and they were only 1/2 to the ridge. |
 | Bugs: |
 | Lost and Found: |
a pair of dirty rain pants hanging in the last on a branch in the last 10th of a mile to the ridge. and some rolled up sweatpants and shirt on a rock at the Shining Rock spur. |

Holy Hannah, today was a busy day in Franconia! I have never experienced the ridge on a weekend in summer before and WOW...so many people. it took me longer to descend than to get up there, because I kept stepping aside and waiting for the conga line to pass. well, the ridge is done for August. if I stay on track, I'll grid it out in February. |
