Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I was the one and only car on the road today. :) There is room for several cars to pull off right by the trailhead. Just make sure all 4 tires are off the pavement.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easy rock hops. There is enough water flowing you can filter it if you need to.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are some stepovers on both trails. Some are a little tall for shorter legs but I managed without needing to get too creative.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw one excellent and well behaved pupper today with his human. This is great route for dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: I did see some flying around but I gave them the stink eye and they left me alone.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing lost and nothing found. I did not see anything hanging from the sign at the trailhead either.

Comments
Comments: After a most delightful and restful weekend playing tourist at home and leaf peeping and attending all sorts of local events, it was lovely to be back in my usual stomping grounds. I avoided the leaf peepers initially by starting kind of early. There was one car at Sabbaday when I drove past and 2 more pulling in but I was the only one at Pind Bend Brook. The trail was wet and I was in and out of spitting rain so nothing really dried. The leaf litter is getting quite a bit deeper which wasn't too much of an issue ascending but required a lot of care descending on the steeps. There are still some larger rocks sticking out above the leaves but they were wet so that didn't help a whole lot. Higher up things were some better with less deciduous trees but the rocks were still slick. I saw 3 other hikers today and all were having a great day as was I. We were pretty socked in up high but it looked like it was clearing as I descended but then it started raining again. Mother Nature just seemed a little confused today. I had a great day just puttering around and was just happy to be out. And I saw TWO moose at Pinkham Notch on my way home so that was the icing on the cake!
