 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Tripoli Road gets rougher and rougher. Allow extra time. Six of us pulled in at 8:30 am and the lot was already full with lots of cars parked on the road. Five dollars to park of the WMNF season pass. |

 | Comments: |
We always seem to get trail amnesia when it comes to this trail. Ascending all was fine - the trail was dry were the rocks but the tedious footing for that first mile or so was no big deal. We began to encounter ice at the slanted slabby section [funhouse]. The tedious footing section was even more problematic for the descent. Ugh, I cannot seem to figure out where to put my feet and it felt like it takes forever to get down.
We posted a sign at the trailhead letting everyone know that GayOutdoors was performing trail maintenance. With so many hikers on the trail that day, we were showered with thanks and words of appreciation as people passed by. It was wonderful to see such a positive response to our efforts! There were lots of friendly and happy hikers who were happy to chat. Another great day on the trail!
