 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All easily navigable |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The first time I did this in 2011, I recall some intact punchons. I was glad for the remnants to balance on in the muddier areas. |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
A few hardy puppers out here. All were well behaved! |
 | Bugs: |
Most problematic were the deer keds at the campsite near the first water crossing. They got into everything, tent, backpack. Still falling out of my cloths by the time I was back in CT! |
 | Lost and Found: |
I am writing this post primarily because of the pair of hiking poles I found on the trail. They looked like someone had dropped them and forgot to pick them up. Please send me email and if you can tell me the brand, I will happily mail then back to you! |

This was a fabulous wknd to be hiking and camping in the whites! Clears skies and a full moon! The fallen leaves were challenging on the lower part of Rocky Branch. Above that I was surprised at how much water there still was even though locals kept pointing out it had not rained in 10 days. Still nothing surprising for the whites. Saw some traces of snow at altitude and a number of patches of water on the trail was frozen Saturday AM. |
