Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Go right at the split for the water crossing just before the Carrigain Notch intersection. The new route has a much easier rock hop than the old route. Everything else was easy to step over.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of 12" or bigger blow downs on the trail about 3.1-3.4 miles in. They'll need a real big handsaw or chainsaw.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: One gray sock that I left at the trailhead kiosk. I found it near the water crossing.

Comments
Comments: The trail is in absolutely stellar conditions given it's early November. The road walk is solid and fast. The first 3 miles of Signal Ridge have some mud spots and leaves, but there's been enough traffic that the leaves are getting churned up and the path is clear. The 2.5 mile climb up to Signal Ridge and then to the summit is fast and mostly dry with avoidable wet rocks.

Somehow the temps were around 50 with the slightest of breeze up top. On Nov 3. I'll take it.

Tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer. You're job probably isn't as important as you think, so call in sick and hit Carrigain (unless you're following in the career footsteps of Jay Baxter - then we kind of need you working to put all the broken hikers back together again.)
