 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
There was one car in the lot when I arrived but I never saw them. The Pupmobile was the only other car in the lot. If you have a low clearance car watch the turn off of Route 3 onto Haystack Road. There are quite a few large holes right as you make the turn. |

 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Easy rock hops |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The North Twin trail is dreamy and there are no issues there. The fire warden's trail has some step overs all along the way. There is one larger blowdown that has the start of a herd path going around it. All are very manageable even for us funsized folks. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
No puppers seen today but this a great hike for doggos! |
|
 | Bugs: |
I had one attempt to go up my nose today but with my amazing skills, I managed to dodge it. There were a few flying about but were not an issue. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Nothing lost and nothing found. I did check the kiosk and there are no lost items there. |

It appeared I would have a rain free window until about 11am but being the rain magnet that I am, the rain started at 9am. Oh well. It was a light drizzle for the most part so it was fine. The North Twin trail was wet still in some areas and leafy in others but still makes for a fast cruise to the turn off for the Fire Warden's trail. Ascending, the trail was pretty dry but the leaves are deep in some areas. The 2 super squelchy muddy areas were firm and I could walk right over them. It was windy up high but the temps were mild so all I needed was a light pair of gloves. It started to drizzle when I reached the summit so I didn't stick around. The rain picked up on my descent which made the leaves wet but the footing must have been good because I didn't slip and I can literally slip on nothing. I never saw a single person all morning and was highly motivated to get back to my car to cash in my McD's monopoly reward for a free double cheeseburger. Yes, I got it and may have set a new record for how fast I inhaled it. |
