Comments
Comments: Did Hurricane Mountain first. The entrance to the unofficial trail is just a few yards west of the Black Cap trailhead. It clearly looks like a path from the road, then goes through a few dozen yards of blowdown, before coming out onto a very obvious old forest road. The route follows that road for a ways, before turning into a clearly defined trail branching off to hiker's right. There's lots of cairns and lime green flagging to mark the way. It gets just slightly harder to follow the path along the summit ridgeline, but still isn't too difficult. 0.6 miles one-way.

After returning to my car, I went back through the parking lot and did Black Cap. Lots of mountain bikers out, even in the drizzle. No views. That trail is a wide open well graded highway you could drive up; it is in great shape currently.
