Comments: Danielle needed a peak for her 4k a day quest and I was happy to tag along with her for her after work evening adventure. We started at 5:30 pm Large headlamps work great and we motored right up the mountain. Brook crossings were easy due to low water levels and it was nice the rocks were dry. It was warm out mid 50's to start and an unbelievable 62 degrees back at the car when we were finished. We took the left to summit via Sosman Trail and returned the same way. On way down we noticed small puddles of water on rocks in places that weren't there on our way up. Condensation was heavy and cooler temps up high produced these wet spots. Nice uneventful up and down hike. Danielle noted that if it was summer we would have started in the daylight and finished with daylight left to spare. Oh these shorter days. Good hike. We had a fine supper in the Waterville Valley Town Square at the Valley Chop House, we got there before 9 pm and we learned they serve until 10 pm and on Friday nights they host a dance party.
