| Comments: |
The snow started just after we left the car. It continued during the entire hike. It first started sticking at about 2500'. Started accumulating above 3000' There was about 1" of new snow in the morning between the peaks and probably more by the end of the afternoon. There were some ice bulges around 3500' and some ice on the trail between the peaks. The snow today actually seemed to help traction. No traction devices were necessary today. There is no monorail left on these trails. Winter conditions prevailed up on top. We stopped at Star King and put a jacket on Lauky and gloves, earmuffs, and neck scarf on me. Conditions: wind, fog, snow, temps 26* |
