Trail was a little muddy down low but easily avoidable if you wanted to avoid it. There were some patches of ice up high on Stony Brook and Carter-Moriah that made footing questionable. My partner in crime decided to wear micros for a minor portion on the Carter-Moriah trail. Other than that, with careful footing it was managable. He wanted to bring his ice ax today but I told him to leave it in the car as I didn't want that weight slowing him down anymore than he is. Views on top were amazing today. Spin drift coming off of Washington was very noticable. Winds were measured at 22mph.
Good day out with John in NH, aka Slowshoes, aka Trailwrecker, aka da cheetah, aka waterbars, aka magnetic north, aka Johnny Blaze, aka Just John |
