What a nice hike with some great footing and a few nice views along the way. Trail out of Bear Notch offers great footing for most of he way to Table..water crossings of no consequence.. several great view ledges on Table. We thrashed in the woods for a bit then eventually hit the actual summit herd path which offered a clearing...flat as a table..lol..A few wet spots and a fairly steep climb to Attitash Ridge. Several minor puds and false summits but eventually we came to the well crossed summit area. Fairly steep descent from there with long stretches along the brook which while was dry today showed amazing levels of Irene damage..It must have been wild out there. Lower section of the trail a lovely stretch of soft trail bed with occiaional spots where the brook had washed all through the woods and down the trail..Many great swimming holes up in here. Saw out first folks at Diana"s Bath..kind of cool today so we skipped the swim and enjoyed the graded trail out from there. Thanks Becca for an excellent day out in the woods...and the ice cold Tuckerman's at the car.. |
