This was our first time on Monadnock -- we can see why it's so popular. We chose Spellman for the ascent since we enjoy rock scrambling. The scrambles last only a few tenths of a mile and are not that difficult -- seasoned White Mountain hikers shouldn't have any trouble with this trail. White Dot was fun on the descent, though there are lots of smooth rock slabs that are probably slippery/treacherous when wet. Pictures will be on my blog late tonight or tomorrow morning. |
