Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: My first time on these trails. Trails were in good shape and I saw minimal Irene damage compared to other trails in the Whites. A couple of blowdowns on Valley Way that were easy to step over. Signage was great up and down. Blazes on Valley Way were sporadic but trail and signs are obvious for summer travel.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one dog, water was sporadic even with recent rains. This was a long day for me, must be for a dog as well.
Bugs
Bugs: No bugs except at both summits and the lower end of Valley Way.

Comments
Comments: These 2 rock piles can be intimidating when viewing from the valley and reading AMC books. There are no shortcuts to these peaks. We decided Air Line was the way to go up because of the direct route. We were pleased with our decision. It's not as steep as advertised, and you'll come out of the trees much earlier than Valley Way for some fantastic views.

Valley Way made for a nice down, but no views.
