Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock hops.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Took out one new but small blowdown. Waterbars generally in good shape; I quickly kicked/healed out a few that had recently filled, but that won't last long. No brushing issues. Some mud pockets in the usual places up high; no big deal. Lower sections are such a nice footbed.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: One of Pepper's favorite trails for the sections running along Stony Brook, and other sippin n dippin crossings. The short scramble ledges up to the peak is always exciting for him, mostly because he doesn't want my help; so I just spot him and give him a butt shove if needed. He likes the views from the ledges. No particularly rough crystalline rock on this hike, nor prolonged exposure to the sun. No water up high. We saw 3 other dogs, a regal beagle and two goldens.
Bugs
Bugs: None.

Comments
Comments: After seeing the lousy forecast for the higher summits visually confirmed on the drive up, I switched the weekend's planned hikes, and we had a very nice hike on Moriah. We saw only a few people and dogs; they must have all stayed with their higher summits hike. Applachia, for instance, was overflowing on the drive home. Moriah's summit was clear, the temps great for hiking, there was some wind in the exposed areas but no rain, and the initial foliage season color's were in the sun. On the drive home we went through showers and saw fast moving clouds still hiding the higher summits. So we lucked out today.
