| Comments: |
The near-summit viewpoint on Mount Evans is slowly becoming obscured by new evergreen growth. There is a trail sign "AMC Mount Evans Trail" at the viewpoint; but the old trail is unmaintained and supposedly closed off at the start on Route 2 by a local land owner (which makes no sense to me, since everything on this side of Route 2 is within the White Mountain National Forest). So this bushwhack adventure is a relatively easy alternative if you want to tag Evans. |
