Met Jim the Caretaker of George Parker Woodland for over 20 years. We left before sunrise. Got a nice shot of the sunrise through the woods. Me and Jim hiked the entire Foster Tract and Milton Gowdy Trail to assess the damage from the storm. This was the first look at that section since the storm. (See Trail Maintenance Notes). It is a good idea to wear Orange. We heard gun shots that were fairly close as George Parker borders Private Property that people hunt on. I wear Orange all the time. Good to be safe. Do not wear White Gloves or a White Hat when hiking there, especially on the Foster Tract. There is no hunting allowed but the Hunters do venture close to the boundaries. Beautiful day and the blanket of leaves was deep on all trails. 90% of the leaves are down.
