Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Many are drying up.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One large blowdown on the trail below St. John's Ledges. Makes it interesting to get over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: This was 7 tough miles. Pack extra water as it is still hot out there too. Make sure that your dog can handle thought miles with scrambles and carried terrain.
Bugs
Bugs: Mosquitoes were vicious. I was also stung by one lone ass of a yellow jacket and shortened my hike due to reaction. No nest.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: NA

Comments
Comments: I had wanted to go for 10 miles to a different shelter but ended early due to bee sting. Nice hike though over Caleb's Peak, and St. John's ledges. That trip down to River road is a killer. Watch the large blow down although that was more of an issue coming back. Stewart's Hollow Brook shelter was a great place to stay.
