Some blowdowns and debris along the Paradise Lane Trail, but on the other hand, it's still only January, so all of it will almost certainly be covered up by future snowfall. |

 | Comments: |
Felt like I was hiking in early to mid May rather than the middle of January. Aside from a few small icy areas on the Undermountain Trail and the AT north of Bear Mountain's summit, the trails were pretty much snow and ice free, with a mix of dry ground, wet ground, mud, and standing water. Temps were very mild the whole time, with a moderate wind to cool things down when necessary. Glad I made the trek to northwestern CT to take advantage of the spring-like conditions, 'cause they ain't gonna last long. |
