Unbelievably dry, snow-free trail with only a little ice on the ridge, no traction needed. I saw in my log that I climbed Ellen this same date last year in similar conditions. They are gearing up for snowmaking and temps were dropping on the hike, so things could change soon. Quick trip up between weather fronts,windy, flakes were getting thick on the descent. 5.2 miles, 2,600' vertical, 2:06 roundtrip today. |
