Comments
Comments: clark brook trail had been tracked out by skiers until past the first water crossing. trail not well packed, snow as wet and we sank an inch or so. as we ascended, snow became deeper and we sank up to 6 inches or more. Clark brook trail had many bright blue blazes and was easy to follow. long trail has very few white blazes; the corridor was indistinct and difficult to follow. no sign of any previous traffic on the long trail. snow got drier as we climbed, but still unconsolidated. not fast. decided to turn around on wilson and not go on to breadloaf. great hike with wayne.
