Stopped short of the top because hiking partner pulled a muscle. We wore snowshoes entire trip, but the bottom half was more bony than I like with snowshoes, and probably would be better with light traction, although snowshoes do work. About half way up the snow was deeper and the snowshoes were nice and appreciated. Although the trail was well packed at the start, 2/3 up, the track showed only one pair of snowshoes had gone up before us and we met the guy on his way down. He said that some one before him went up in boots. On out way down, we passed multiple people in snowshoes so our descent was well packed. A beautiful day with deep blue sky. |
