Comments
Comments: Not a messy hike at all compared to hiking in the Whites a couple of days ago; even the mud was not a problem/did not splash my pants; temperature difference significant--started in t-shirt and was all bundled up with gloves on the summit; at the trail juncture with the LT, 0.3mi from summit, the thermometer read 28F; atop the summit it was very windy--don't know what the feel-temperture was, but I did not stay long; trees were gorgeous though with icicles; put on microspikes approx. 1.5mi from the summit when the trail turned icy. Provided all the needed traction. Monorail stable so no showshoes needed; and snow depth is minimal so even if one should break through, it should not be deep. Sun and clouds all day; made for pretty pictures.
