Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: For a dog that can handle snow, traversing the summit ridge should be no problem. It should be noted however that Hell Brook, the Cliff Trail and the Long Trail on the northbound side of the chin are not dog friendly as conditions towards the summit are very snowy/icy.

Comments
Comments: Lot's of ice, snow and very wet rock on the Hell Brook trail going up, while not 100% necessary, i would strongly recommend spikes and maybe even an axe for some sections. Be prepared for winter conditions along the summit ridge. Definitely bring and axe and spikes if you plan on following the cliff trail. Conditions were extremely sketchy, thin ice and snow along the steeper sections with some snow slogging and postholing on the flatter sections.
