Comments
Comments: As specified on the Killington web site, we bought an Uphill Travel permit for $20 and then ascended Ramshead and Snowdon Mountains via Easy Street, Swirl, and Frolic trails. From Snowdon we headed toward Killington peak on Killink, Great Northern, and Ridge Run. Above the Canyon Quad we ignored a closed-for-season sign and followed the Peak Walkway to an unofficial slope which then led to the summit. From the Peak we followed an obvious trail down to the K-1 Peak Lodge, where we picked up the other end of the Walkway to descend by the same route. On the ascent we were checked by one ski patrol for our Uphill Travel pass, which is good for the year but hardly helpful to peakbaggers like Steve, Jim, and me. We enjoyed watching and mixing with the skiers, and the weather was very good, with clearing skies in the afternoon.
