| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Room for several cars at the Red Gate trailhead off W Union St. in Manchester. If said lot is full, there's room on the street; just don't block the fire hydrant. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts, Snow/Ice - Postholes |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
No major crossings. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One big blowdown on the middle part of Blue Summit Trail, just before the spring spur- easily stepped over. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a few down low- didn't see any higher up or on the summit. They wouldn't have a problem, though. |

| Comments: |
The trails were packed but not consolidated, but the snow cover was relatively thin until the very top; therefore, snowshoes or light traction would do the job. Steep and steady trail, but the views from the top were excellent despite the overcast skies.
After today, I'm at 27/50 on the New England 50 Finest and 69/100 on the New England 100 Highest. |
