Paid $20 for uphill pass at Pico (ouch). They had specific ski trails that they wanted hikers to use. There was some snowshoe signage as well, but those got confusing in the middle part of the mountain. I ended up straying from the route I was supposed to take thanks to the signage being in a different area. Then after a few more signs, they just vanished. Ended up going up closed ski slopes instead due to areas of thin snow. Which was great since I didn't have to worry about dodging skiers. Little bit of everything on the slopes, pockets of ice, unpacked snow, about ankle deep. Compacted snow near the summit. Only used microspikes the entire time. |
