Laura Cowles to LT to summit, down Sunset Ridge Tr
Lots of new snow. 4-6" at trailhead, 4' drifts on summit ridge and in gullies. Trail slick with new snow on top of soft ice. Most obstacles hidden by new snow. Summit and ridge would be better win snowshoes. Lots of powder and wind packed dense snow. Saw 5 others expected a lot more given the new snow. Socked in on summit but Sunset Rudce cleared up with great views. SR trail would be easier if no wind or exposure threats. |
