Parking/Access Road Notes: As Rocket21 pointed out access road washboardy so be ready about 2+- miles in. Water system being flushed on 8-28 and reported to understandibly taste bleachy so may want to plan on this in near future.

Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: More trail work being done on Sunset Ridge Tr.(already one of best trails in Vt.) Bridges on LT wearing out on ridge(I'm sure GMC has it planned for replacement)
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Some water available up higher for dogs but not much. Any side trails(see trails used) not recommended for dogs because of ladders, scrambles, caves, crevices etc. Maple Ridge probably requires some assistance to dogs at a crevice and possibly a ledge section.
Bugs
Bugs: Lots of flies as day warmed

Comments
Comments: Hoping to meet up with some friends or a GMC group during hike so this led me into an up, down, and up again day along the ridge between Forehead and Chin. The LT between Forehead and Chin has always been one of my favorite walks in Vt.. The side trails (Cliff, Lakeview, Canyons and Subway) are challenging for different reasons. As Rocket21 mentioned on 8-27, difficulty ratings of these trails may not seem logical. I've always considered the Cliff Tr. (distance not being factored in) to be the most difficult. However today some stuff on the west side of the ridge slowed me down and kicked my butt. All in all the MRT-Sunset loop is one of best in Vt. and if some more adventure is wanted check out any of the side trails. Saw the NETC cards in the register box, maybe we'll run into you sometime.
