Comments: Parked at the trailhead for Killington on Wheelerville Rd. Went up the gated road, past the red house. Then straight at the junction, up the road less traveled. At the next junction, took the right road. Soon after, passed around a washed out section of road with a culvert while descending towards the river. One tiny cairn at the river crossing. Crossed the river, then started to follow skidder roads, gaining altitude quickly. The closer we got to the ridge, the more flagging on trees. Eventually reached the ridge, went over the false summit, and reached the canister. We bushwacked back down, something I have never done before, and in true form, we lost the flagged route. So we bushwacked down while following the path of least resistance. We ended up descending to the right (east) of our upward route. We eventually hooked up to a logging road that paralleled the river, and eventually hooked up to our route going up at the river crossing. There is a yellow sign on a tree near the river crossing saying Wheelerville Rd, 1.5 miles, with an arrow pointing in the direction you should go. First time for me seeing this sign.
