Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in fine shape.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The LT is tough on a dog. Make sure they can do a long distance hike and handle lots of different terrain. We by passed the LT ladders by taking two side trails but even those are challenging. Watch your dog carefully. They are expected to be leashed on the Mansfield ridge too.
Bugs
Bugs: Yes... But that's part of hiking.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing here.

Comments
Comments: 5 days to get to Mansfield... 5 wonderful trail days on the LT. If you re looking for a fun way to get up to the Forehead, either take the LT with the ladder section or take the Wampahoofus Trail to Maple Ridge... Wampahoofus is also my new favorite word. What an amazing trail but again, if you have a dog, make sure they can handle rocks... Big rocks... Crevasses... A cave... and a steep incline slab. The Mansfield Ridge is now my favorite... Even over Franconia. What a fantastic journey I am on.
