Comments
Comments: Got retribution today on Camel's Hump, redeeming the lack of views I had on my LT thru-hike last year, and putting to rest the demons of the lowest day of that trip. I wasn't any less sweaty, but the views and lack of wet rock made for a most enjoyable outing. Forest City was a joy to ascend, with easy to moderate grades throughout, and decent footing. I took the LT south for about 0.2 to the Allis Trail (which hikers can use to bypass Montclair Glen Lodge), and took it around to Wind Gap, enjoying the framed view up to Camel's Hump from the height of land. The LT northbound over Camel's Hump didn't disappoint, with much steep scrambling, and views! Several groups hanging around on the summit, and I met many groups ascending Burrows. Took a dip in a little swim hole on lower Forest City, then went into Burlington for beer... which was the real reason for the trip. Reminisced pretty hard throughout the hike, and need to pick a bone with a long distance trail sooner than later. Awesome day!
