Lower Snowdon trails to glades, bushwhack to Long Trail, Catwalk to summit
Took off early this morning. Didn't see anyone or any construction on the Snowdon but I did notice that the chairs have been removed from the Snowdon Triple. The snow in the woods was great and it was easy skinning. The Superstar lift was open running jammed packed and the gondola is closed during the week. Snowdon has been closed a couple weeks now. Bushwhacking up through woods over lots of old ski tracks. Stopped by the Cooper Lodge, the old shelter is in pretty poor shape. Good views, little wind and lots of warm sunshine. On the summit another couple arrived just as I was leaving having come up the Bucklin Trail. Quick ski down on sun soften snow. |
