Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: WARNING FOR DOGS: Yes, do heed the warnings on the signs regarding porcupine activity in the area. Ever since I saw a dog (with an AT thru-hiker) severely quilled by a porcupine near Cooper Lodge 2 years ago I have leashed my dogs in the vicinity of the lodge/tent platforms. Today a fat porcupine was wandering near Cooper Lodge and I was glad Eva was on a leash for that portion.
Bugs
Bugs: none today

Comments
Comments: Bucklin trail is finally snow and ice free! No more snowshoes and spikes. After the recent rain, a fair bit of water and mud on the trail but not that bad for May. Experienced this summit in all kinds of weather and didn't mind that the top was fogged in and wind blowing a gale, just happy for fresh air and a good workout, painted trilliums and trout lilies pretty today. Porcupine wandering near Cooper Lodge, glad Eva was on a leash for that section.
