| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The overflow parking lot at the Middlesex trailhead was almost full when I arrived about 10:30 Saturday morning. When I returned to my car around 15:15, it was filled beyond capacity and maneuvering to exit the parking area was challenging. There were cars parked along N. Bear Swamp Road as well. I did not bother to investigate the main parking area as I assumed it was totally full. |

| Comments: |
Awesomely clear, sunny day, cool but not cold, fall colors at peak. Couldn't ask for a better hiking day. The views from both summits were spectacular. The only problem was the wet trails. There was even a good deal of mud on the Middlesex Trail approaching the new metal staircase on the way up Hunger. Descending from the summit on the southwest side of the peak, there were traces of ice in many places. Along the trail from Hunger to White Rock, there was standing water and mud nearly everywhere. The exposed rocks on both summits were mostly dry. The Bob Kemp Trail descending from White Rock was again very slippery and treacherous. |
